Acupuncture

Acupuncture is known as Chinese ancient art of healing by inserting needles in specific points in the body where flow of qi is manipulated. It is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), along with herbal therapy, massage (Tui Na), exercise (Qigong) and dietary therapy. One of the most important concepts of TCM is that the body’s vital energy circulates through channels called meridians which are connected to body organs and functions through their branches. Any interruption in meridian pathway can cause an effect on our body’s functions. If the blockade is quickly resolved the energy can flow freely again, but if it stays for longer period of time, that can cause more serious consequences like chronic diseases. Thanks to diet and exercise we can prevent aging and stay healthy for a long time. Acupuncture as a part of TCM can be used as well as preventing illnesses (keeping the body and mind in a good harmony) or as a very powerful method of healing. In some cases, acupuncture works very fast, even after few treatments, especially if the problem is not chronic. In some cases it can take more time. In any treatment, a lot depends on the patient. TCM gives a lot of responsibility to patients in treating themselves by balancing lifestyle, diet and exercise. With acupuncture or herbs alone we can achieve a lot but there is also certain work required from the patient for the results to be lasting.
